The GOUACHE collection

My most recent paintings have been created during a time of solitude while living in the Carolinas. I would typically wake at 4AM and immediately begin painting. It’s been a time of magic for me and the paintings flowed.

Color is everything in my painting world, and I have become fond of a loose brush stroke combined with calligraphic line. This gives the paintings an almost abstract appeal, and a unique freshness. Sometimes the paintings evoke memories of outdoor gardens, vases of flowers sent as gifts. I paint what I love about them, not really concerned about their realistic form. I paint with gouache, oils, inks and transparent watercolors, alone or tin various combinations of mediums.

Occasionally, you may find garden fairs, black cats or other small beings, although it may not be apparent that they are those things.
